Shale is created by the compaction of silt, clay and mineral particles, and is placed in a category of sedimentary rocks known as “mudstones”. Our red shale, brought in from Saskatchewan, is a soft, terracotta-coloured stone. It provides a unique look for your gardens, trees and shrubs. Our 1⁄4" red shale is a powdery stone, often used for pathways and baseball diamonds.
